Quick overview and case studies from on-going or completed projects.

Workable Solutions

Workable Solutions, a growing occupational and rehabilitation therapy clinic in Mountlake Terrace, Washington, went through a variety of individual and corporate IT contractors before calling IMS for a complete review of their system. They were experiencing connection problems with their wireless network, suffering from lock-ups and slow file access to their server, and having problems connecting to the Internet reliably. The situation had lasted for months in that state; after a four hour on-site review, IMS had produced complete documentation of their system, the problems they were seeing, even more problems they hadn't noticed yet, and a set of recommendations to address all of them.

Using outside contractors to keep costs down, IMS oversaw the project to correct all of the issues and resolved them all successfully inside of two months.

Today Workable Solutions spends less on IT and enjoys better up-time and fewer frustrations, making their employees more productive and able to spend their time on their work, not on the phone with technical support. IMS now manages the Workable Solutions network proactively, monitoring it regularly, ensuring it is patched and that looming issues are addressed before they disrupt the staff.

Stanton Northwest

Stanton Northwest, a Kirkland-based real estate development company, brought IMS in to make recommendations to lay a foundation for their expansion and office move.

The company was operating with ad hoc, individual systems without coordination or networking, no back ups, no centralized e-mail, and no plan to accomodate the projected expansion of staff or new office space which was to hold them. Concrete planning was difficult, since no firm numbers were available on the staff to be hired or the technology support requirements they might have.

IMS put together a series of recommendations which allowed the company to ramp up stable, secure, and flexible systems to provide networked printing, shared file storage, and electronic mail services at an extremely low cost. Expandability was built in to the process to allow the company to bring in staff at a faster or slower rate without any significant adjustments, and at a cost proportionate to the expansion. Up front costs were kept to a minimum with pay-as-you-go provisioning, and no-frill "throw-away" procurement options.

Stanton was able to move in to their new office and increase their staffing without significant up-front costs and with considerably fewer problems than experienced by many businesses in similar situations.
